About Dwight Morgan, Jr.
Dwight started penning his first book, Heat of Hydration (HOH), a thriller, in 2010 with the goal of just writing a novel. A self-help publication on how to write novels was given to him Christmas of 2009 which helped kick-start his writing journey. As an avid consumer of thrillers, he knew what elements he liked in that genre and believed he could write one as well. He set a goal to write one page a day. He finished the HOH manuscript draft two years later.
He emailed many query letters to agents and tired quickly of the two words “no thanks”. In 2017, he joined the Atlanta Writers Club, and over the next six years, with the guidance of AWC’s George Weinstein, he received excellent coaching and advice on how the industry operates. Hiring two editors, he improved his writing skills in regards to character development(not his), character arc, point of view and scene setting.
His book Heat of Hydration is under contract with Black Rose Writing and came on the market January 2, 2025. Dwight, a graduate of Auburn University, owns a commercial construction company in the Atlanta area. He and his wife Patti live in Roswell, GA and have two adult sons.
